Our mission here at Nexa Solar is to make every step of your Colorado
home’s solar panel installation a pleasure, and something
you’ll be happy to rave to your friends about.
Solar power tax incentives.
If you own your solar panels instead of leasing them, you are entitled to an array of tax incentives. You already know your home will increase in value, but Colorado will not penalize you for improving your home with solar energy. You will not be taxed on the added real estate value due to solar panels and systems.
The government wants you to invest in solar energy and offers an incentive that many homeowners find motivating. The federal solar tax credit, also called an investment tax credit (ITC), allows to you deduct 30 percent of what you pay to install a solar energy system. Even better, there is no limit on your investment, meaning there’s no “cap.” The IRS even says, “no costs relating to a solar panel or other property installed as a roof (or portion thereof) will fail to qualify solely because the property constitutes a structural component of the structure on which it is installed.” And “The home doesn’t have to be your main home.”
